How To Create a Dropdown Navigation
Dropdown menus are one of Solodrop's largest & more important design features. Our dropdown menu is designed to create a simple yet effective experience for your online shoppers. Keep reading this article for a quick guide on how to create a dropdown menu in Solodrop like the one shown below:
- Visit the Online Store section within your Shopify admin area.
- From here, you'll see a tab called "Navigation". Click this tab.
- On this page, you can either create a new menu by clicking "Add menu", or you edit an existing menu my clicking on the menu name that you'd like to edit.
- On the menu editing page, you can create menu items by clicking "Add menu item". Type in your menu item name and add the URL.
In order for a menu to become a dropdown menu, you'll need to drag the menu item below another menu item. This can be achieved by clicking and dragging the dots to the left of the menu item name, and moving the menu item under another menu item.
From there, there is now new option that allows you to add a new menu item directly to your new dropdown list. Click "Add menu item to ____" to continue adding menu items to your dropdown list.
- Hit "Save" when you are finished editing, in order for your changes to take effect on your theme.
Note: ensure that this menu is then selected within the "Header" section within your theme customizer once you're ready to publish your menu to your theme.
