How To Use Quantity Discount

The Quantity Discount feature entices your customer to add more of the same item to their cart with a discounted message.

Please note that in order for the discounts to work, you'll need to set up discount codes or automatic discounts within the Shopify admin. Learn more about discount codes here and automatic discounts here.

Shopify does have a limitation of allowing 1 automatic discount active at a time. In order to allow your customer's to take advantage of multiple discounts, you'll need to set up discount codes within Shopify. When using discount codes, it's best to ensure that your customer's understand that a discount code is needed for the additional discounts.

Configuring Quantity Discounts

1. First, you will need to setup your discount codes or automatic discount within the Shopify admin. Since you can only set up one automatic discount at a time, you may need to create multiple discount codes if you plan on using multiple discount quantity tiers.
   
   Ensure that your discounts have a required minimum quantity level for each quantity tier that you plan on configuring.
   
   
   
   
   If you are only offering 1 discount level (example, 2 more is 10% off), then using a single automatic discount will be the better option. See above for more details on discounting.
2. Navigate to the theme customizer. From here, navigate to a product page that has the product template that you'd like to make edits to. Once there, click on the section "Product Details".
3. Scroll down until you find the "QUANTITY DISCOUNTS" group of settings. Ensure you check the box for "Enable Quantity Discounts" to enable this feature.
   
   
4. There are 2 settings each for 3 quantity levels. The two settings are:
   
   Quantity Option - This controls the quantity option that the user can select to add to cart.  A quantity of 1 is already included as the default first option.
   
   Quantity Option Discount - This shows up next to the quantity option and should display the amount the user will be saving by selecting this option (% or $).
5. Repeat these settings for each option set (#1, #2, & #3).

Remember to configure the settings accurately according to the discounts that you set up in Shopify.
